Remember mix tapes, and burnt cd’s? They are a thing of the past. Everything is digital now.
This article is store place for 6 playlists I created using Youtube. These are songs that I had on mix tapes when I was younger. Now I have brought them back to life and remade them for a digital experience on Youtube.
The key concept I want to drive home is that every song from the mix tapes are available on Youtube, stream-able for free. This would have been impossible to experience these songs in this order 20 years ago without significant work.
I usually don’t sensationalize technology, but this is something that I can’t help being elated about. Finding and putting together these play-lists made me realize how far Youtube has come as a platform.
All the music is licensed in some way through their parent labels. If the music isn’t from the bands music label it is being hosted by someone else who has somehow gathered the right appropriation for Youtube. All legal, all free.
The only catch is advertising… but hey Uncle Sam has to make it back right? Either way, the music is here for you to experience.
